Simply Tradition (Part 2)

This exposition started at Simply Tradition.

What do you think about these ones?

I know right where we can use them.

Another Sale!

Judy moves the furniture to the "SOLD" section.

Just ask her!

The best deals on vintage clothing on Cape Ann.

The Rummage Sale Entrepreneurs!

Stan scans the crowds in the used book department.

You cannot beat these prices.

Peter Foster provide tomatoes from his garden.

Others provided homemade salsa and pickles.

I missed the Nisu and Anadama Bread. They went pretty quickly.

How about 'dem tomatoes?

Music, music, music!

Judy and Flicka say "C'mon Back Next Year!"

Simply Tradition

A sense of community.
A sense of belonging.

August in Lanesville means it's time for the annual
yard sale at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

It's a neighborhood event which has been occurring for 39 years!

Some folks plan their vacations around it in order to
visit friends and family from years gone by.

The crowds were down in numbers a little bit this year.
The economy even affects church yard sales.
There were, however, folks lined up waiting for the start.

It looks like the Hafeys are planning their shopping
trip through the toys section!

The Silent Auction Table is still setting up.

Ding! Ding! Ding!
The yard sale has begun!

Looks like a few folks are racing to get to
all the bargains.

Smile!

Look! Could it be?
Yes, It's Steve Thomas of the Rockport Legion Band.
There is still a couple of concerts left this summer season.
Check out the Rockport Legion Band Page for more information.

A tip of the hat to you too!

The fabrics table was busy most of the day.

There were bargains galore at the White Elephant Table.
The meaning of "white elephant" doesn't really match the bargains here!

Simply A Yard Sale

Saturday was the 38th Annual St. Paul Lutheran Church "World's Greatest Yard Sale" and you could not have asked for a better day. I have been told that it has only rained on 1 of those 38 yard sales so something must be working right!

The yard sale is considered one of the social events in Lanesville and the crowds lining up 30 minutes before the start seemed to affirm this.

Dick Babson surveys the tables to make sure all is prepared for the opening.

On your mark, get set, go! The opening bell and here they come.

Carol & Deb prepare the nisu, blueberry squares and many other goodies at the Baked Goods Table.

Furniture anyone?
There's no "Bernie & Phyl" here.
This yard sale has "Judy & Bill" instead!

Start them on the toys and then they'll come back every year!

Shhhh! It's a silent auction.

Artwork galore.

Folks lined up to pay for toys, prints and white elephants. What a bargain!

The chefs confer on the art of cooking sausages and frankfurters.

Save room for dessert. Ice cream, anyone?

See what I mean, back to look for more toys!

While the women swarm around the jewelry table.

Naturally, music was involved.

Flicker kept an eye on everyone!

See you next year at the 39th Annual "World's Greatest Yard Sale"!
