Simply Soulful!

Early September morning at the Gloucester Fishermen’s Wives Memorial.

As Angela Sanfilippo, GFWA president, so eloquently said at the dedication ceremony:
"The memorial serves as a testimonial to what wives, mothers, sisters, and children of fishermen of the world have endured because their men chose to be on the water. They had no choice but to stand on rock, to be on land."

Simply Carillon

September 2nd was the final Carillon Concert for 2022 at Our Lady of Good Voyage Church in Gloucester. Today's concert featured Thomas Dort, Cynthia Cafasso-Donaldson and LuAnn Pallazola.

The cariilon has 31 bells and was designed and built by John Taylor Bell Foundry, Ltd. of Loughborough, England which still makes bells today. When installed at Our Lady's with 23 bells in 1922, it was the first modern attuned carillon in the United States. 8 more bells were installed in 1924.

Here are a selections of the Patriotic Pieces played on Friday.
